Analy drama costs … did you know?

  • Royalties to mount a production range from $300 - $2,000; that’s about $3,000 per year!
  • Professional & technical work (lighting, sound, etc.) costs up to $3,000 per year.
  • Stipends for teachers * (choreographer, musical director, costumer) run about $3,000 per year.
  • Equipment replacement and repair could cost several thousand dollars per year – if we had the $$! We just bought a new scrim ($950) but desperately need a new cyclorama (that screen at the back of the stage). Other theatre maintenance has been deferred indefinitely.
  • Hardware costs about $1,000 per year – not including lighting instruments (up to $500 to replace), lamps (up to $80 each), and gaffer tape (up to $25 per roll).
