The Analy Band program is distinguished within California for having one of the
highest ratios of band students to total student population.
At the core of our program are the Winter and Spring Band
concerts which are not to be missed! The Analy Band traditionally performs
the National Anthem in the fall at a San Francisco Giants game. Analy takes pride
in hosting the annual Fall Band Festival where bands from the North Bay perform
before an audience of university-level band directors who in turn provide valuable
clinics to the bands. In the Spring, the combined bands march in Sebastopol's Apple
Blossom Parade.
Vance Regan became the Director of the Instrumental Music Program at
Analy in 1992. Since that time, the program has expanded from 3 bands to
4 bands plus an orchestra. Student enrollment in band and orchestra
increased from 65 to 215 students. Approximately 15% of the Analy
student body participates in the instrumental music program. 90% of
band and orchestra students enroll in instrumental music classes throughout their
four years of high school.
The Analy Honor Band and Jazz Band compete in band festivals annually
and consistently achieve top ratings.

Analy's orchestra is open to students with an interest in string
instruments. Students range in experience from beginners to advanced.
They play a variety of both classical and modern music and perform at
concerts and festivals.. The class now meets as a part of the regular schedule.
Our Jazz Band regularly performs at local fundraisers and award events, provides live
music at Analy's Swing Dances, and participates in jazz festivals throughout Northern
California. The Jazz Band took top honors with a command performance
rating at the Santa Cruz competition in March, 2005.
