Analy High School requires a minimum of two years of mathematics for graduation. The University of
California and California State University systems both require three years of college prep math
courses - specifically, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 - for entrance. A fourth year of
college prep math is recommended. There are three sequences of math courses available at Analy
High School: the basic sequence, the college preparatory sequence, and the accelerated sequence.
Entering freshmen are placed according to their eighth grade teacher's recommendation and placement
test scores. Students enrolled in middle school may be unable to take courses (even if qualified) due to scheduling problems. |
